How To Shutdown Your Computer Faster

We love almost everything about our computers. They do our task faster. But there are two things that drive us nuts. One is starting and another one is shutting down the computer. Both of them make us to wait for sometime. Well, I will talk about ways to start your computer faster later, but now let’s know how to shut down your PC faster. It will be 4 times faster than your normal shutdown. Additionally it won’t be creating any problems.
ShutDown is a third party software available today which can make your job pretty easier. It’s efficient and free. Look at it’s screenshot below.

This is a very user friendly freeware. After installation, it will create a shortcut on your desktop. Whenever you want to shut down your PC, click on it. And with a single click, it will shut down your PC safely. Now if you are having any unsaved data, it will ask for your confirmation before shutting down. So, it’s safe.


Besides the above one, you can create shortcuts for restart, shutdown and hibernate on your desktop. All you have to do is go to your desktop and create a new shortcut (Right click –> New –> Shortcut) on your desktop and put the below values in that field.

Shutdown Shortcut

shutdown.exe -s -t 00
Restart Shortcut

shutdown.exe -r -t 01
Hibernate
rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState

These shortcuts work on both XP and vista. Do not know much about older opearting systems. Try this and it will save a loads of your time.
