Edit and Change Owner, Organization Details in Windows XP

While installing windows XP, it prompts to give the owner and organization name. Once filled up those parts during installation process, it will never ask that again. But if you do some typo during that period or later want to change the owner and organization details, what would you do? There is no such options available in windows XP to change these details. But still, we can change these informations from windows registry menu. Lets learn how.

To edit and reset owner and organization details, follow the below mentioned steps:
1. Click on Start and then Run
2. Type Regedit and hit Enter
3. Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version
4. On the right hand side you can see many options and their values. DO NOT change anything there except the below provided values. Else your computer might stop working.
5. Double click on RegisteredOwner and type your name in that Value Data field. Click OK. This will change the registered owner’s name.
6. Now to change the organization’s name, double click on RegisteredOrganization and put your organization’s name in that provided field. Now click OK.
7. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
This will change your system’s registered owner and registered organization’s name. You can follow the above mentioned steps each time you want to change and keep a new owner or organization name on your Windows XP.
